Ottaway announces executive changes at headquarters
CAMPBELL HALL, NY Ottaway Newspapers Inc. today announced several executive changes at its corporate office.
Andrew Langhoff, Ottaway general counsel and vice president for Internet development, has assumed the title of senior vice president. In addition to his current responsibilities, he will serve as corporate operating liaison to Ottaway’s Hudson Valley and Catskills Media Group.
Bill Zurilla, vice president and chief financial officer, also has assumed a major additional assignment as he has taken overall responsibility for the information services division.
Ron Regan, vice president for information services since 1997, retired at the end of 2006. He joined Ottaway in 1995 as a consultant during the installation of its first company-wide content management system.
Ken Hall, vice president for news since 2002, has become editorial page editor of the Times Herald-Record in Middletown, replacing Robert Gaydos who retired at the end of the year. Hall will continue to coordinate newsroom training for Ottaway and serve as corporate communications officer.
Zeke Fleet, vice president of operations and sales, has assumed additional operational responsibilities, as has Don Waterman, vice president of operations and audience development. Both executives serve dual roles as liaisons to specific Ottaway locations while also providing consultative services throughout the company.
John Kinney, senior vice president and 37-year Ottaway veteran, retired at the end of 2006. Kinney had held executive positions at eight newspapers before settling at corporate headquarters in 2002.
Jim Moss, chief franchise development officer for Ottaway, also has taken early retirement. Moss was publisher at the Times Herald-Record from 1996 until he became chairman of the newspaper in January and moved to the corporate headquarters.
“We have said farewell to some truly outstanding executives in the past few weeks, as they have moved on to retirement after giving many years of excellent service to Ottaway. We wish them every good thing, “ said John Wilcox, chief executive officer of Ottaway. “At the same time, others are stepping up to accept important additional responsibilities as our company moves into new areas of operation.”
